Question:

Feminist = v****a?

It seems to me that people always address feminists as being female, but a good portion of men are feminists too.

After all, "feminism" is simply the belief that neither women nor men are better than the other.

How do you see this gender bias at work in your life, and what can we do to remind people that many men are feminists too?

  1. Firstly, I have never been discriminated against because of my gender (with the exception of Y!A- but you gotta expect it here, with all them trolls!)

Feminism started out well, but most of the time now all I see is bigotry, sexism and hate.  I feel that radical feminists today are after female supremacy, and I don't agree with lowering the rights of men.  I'm all for equality- but that is where it ends.  I think we have gone past that now.

  2. You divide noob head, jokes. Well there are so many definitions of feminsm coming from different people i still won't believe the maajority of feminists fight for equality.

  3. "After all, "feminism" is simply the belief that neither women nor men are better than the other".

That is your definition, but I have read other definitions...

  4. There are men out there who have been brain-washed by the feminists and the lies.  Sad but true.

Still, I have to admit; the feminists did a pretty good job of fooling a good number of people into believing that they are about "equality".

  5. When people think of feminist's they think of the radical ones.

Because most feminists are radicals. Libertarian feminists influence in the gender debate is either low or drowned out by the radicals.

But to be fair the first instinct I have when a guy says he is a feminists is A) his girlfriend must be a radical feminist or B) he is clueless.

But your assertion of what feminism is and what it actually has done and is currently advocating doesn't compute.

       Sorry or rather not sorry.

I try to learn lessons from history and the holocaust was a BIG history lesson. When group A says they really don't like group B and then begin to try and demonize them, restrict there rights to the borderline of second class citizenship only a fool would not take notice.

But it is always easy to ignore bigotry's when it is beneficial.

To those why say once upon a time... Radical man bashing feminists have been involved since the begining of the movement. People like to quote old names.. but look into what they wrote and thought about and the picture changes.

  6. Feminist =/= v****a?

  7. Male feminists are not "men."

  8. "After all, "feminism" is simply the belief that neither women nor men are better than the other."

im afraid you are naive, feminism was initially a good rights movement but is is something very different now.

if modern feminism was as you described, it would have my support.

  9. I don't find that there is a gender bias at my work it is illegal to discriminate someone due to their s*x. A big corporation can't afford have that sort of bias.

The place where the gender bias is put out there with no regrets is the Greek Orthodox church. Every Greek person (excluding my fiance) that I have ever met has a distinct line of what a woman's role is to what the mans role is.

You can try and bring it to their attention but it is as if they have never heard of equal rights for women.

To remind people that men are feminists too..well maybe changing the stigma of the title.....'So many people men and women are for equal rights for both men and women'.

  10. feminism is a way to increase awareness about womens equal rights, and it does not = v****a.  I don't see such things at work, jobs in this area are pretty equal though the pay isn't a hundred percent. Over all men are pretty much o.k. with feminism, but I think the only way to expand that horizon is stop making out that they (women) are not gonna raise families.  The working women today tends to not raise there children not all but the majority that is around here. I think if they found a way for men and women to co parent and not neglect the fam or leave it up to the schools and day cares then things would b better looked at about feminism... which is happening little by little,,,, most of the dad in my fam work and so does the mom, and both parents co parent in the best interest of the child... so it is becoming it just takes time,

  11. unfortunately it seems only to sink in when male feminists pick up the gauntlet, and to their credit cary a heavy burden on behalf of other men.

  12. to me, feminism means that i dont have to take no **** from no one. haha. just kidding. some people get too fanatical about it instead of just proving the others wrong. take a proactive stance and just live your life. dont let anything get in the way. have fun

  13. Your assumption about what feminism is, is retarded.

Feminism is sexist, plain and simple.

  14. Well actually feminism tries to establish a matriarchy over a patriarchy. There is nothing equalist about feminism, unless the whole concept of feminism was redefined in order to cater to both men and women.

Although i agree that there are male feminists, nevertheless most men would reject an ideology which adopts the workings of an internal "patriarchy" in order to further its own cause.

    Peace
