  1. The only one around here with a semblance of truth is Eoghan g.  The rest of them have no d**n idea of what they are even talking about; for one thing what does veiling in public and not being able to drive in Saudi Arabia have to do with how a man treats his wife; those are entirely two different issues that have nothing to do with each other.  Besides; since when did God die and leave Feminists in charge?

  2. your from Dubai?

    and Muslin

    and married?

    BS...C

Answering Q...I don't think that's possible.  To have an equal relationship and respect your wife but be pro Sharia law.

Sure someone can say such...but it's called lying.

Either you dont understand Sharia law

or your concept of an equal relationship...is very off.

    If you can say that...

I can say I have an equal relationship with a black man, but I'm pro slavery and separation laws.

Simple..Pro Choice's don't see abortion as killing a child, they see it as cells with no thoughts or feeling.  They also see it as, having the choice to have or not have a child.

Someone showed me this the other day...little off topic

as it's dealing with a man and a goat...but sharia law brought them together in marriage!

  3. If you're a good person everything else is irrelevant.

  4. Well, Sharia law basically strips women of all their basic human rights. Such as the right to go to school or even own some property. In Saudi Arabia, women aren't allowed to drive or go anywhere without a male relative. Their dad decides who marries them and they must be covered up at all times. Don't forget they also do honor killings and stonings. The man in that marriage can beat her or rape her and she couldn't do anything about it. It's a contradiction.

  5. my married muslim friends in morocco had better, more respectful relationships that my married friends in australia. what you are saying is very difficult for Westerners to believe or understand.

im not down with some aspects of sharia law though.

it was pretty funny when the woman in afghanistan went looking for a divorce on the grounds that her husband couldn't perform, he ran away and a warrant was issued for his arrest and he had to explain his problem to the authorities in order for her divorce to be granted.

  6. Honestly if the women there don't mind I won't either.  I can't imagine anyone but a male saying they were pro this law.  The law definitely benefits men over women.  A man can divorce his wife by saying that he divorces her three times is just stupid (IMO) but she can only divorce him by stupid laws. Anyways if a Dubai man said that he loved his wife, had a good egalitarian marriage but was strongly pro Sharia law I would call him a liar.  If he is pro-sharia law then how can he possibly view his wife as an equal?

As for your abortion comment; easy she is not saying she wants to kill her children; she is simply saying that she wants her and her kids to have the choice available to them.  Comparing Sharia law to abortion is like comparing apple to oranges.

  7. Regarding your edit, being pro-choice doesn't mean you think all pregnancies should end in abortion. A woman can be pro-choice and still have kids... her choice was to give birth, most likely because she wanted to be a mother, but she believes other women should be legally able to make different choices. Pro-choice, remember, not pro-abortion. ;-)

On the other hand, I'm not sure that you can have an egalitarian marriage but still follow Sharia law. I suppose you could believe in it but not follow it... is that what you're asking? Sharia law doesn't say "you have the option to do this", it says "you must do this". There's a difference. Your analogy is pretty flawed.
