My truck rolled back & fit my moms bumper. I have full coverage ins. This falls under liability correct? I know there is a deductible under comprehensive and collision but this would be under my liability coverage. I dont pay a deductible under liability do I? Just under the collision and comprehensive. Hers will cost around $500 to get fixed. Hers is 2000 mustang. I haven't called my Ins. co. yet cause I will go there to tell them tomorrow. Anyone had this type of issue. I have clean record and it says on my policy 1st fender bender is forgiven and no surcharge will be added.

  1. hers will be at no cost to you, under your liability.  your damages, if any will be subject to a deductible

  2. well without looking at your insurance policy... your ins will charge you one way or another. but like the others said this would be cheaper to not claim on your insurance or hers and just pay for it out of pocket.

  3. Well.. this can be tricky one.  There is no deductible under liability.  But... When you hit your own car or a family members car and live in same household things can be different.  Better call your agent and tell him/her the situation and have them advise you.

  4. I'm going  to give  you two  answers as i need a piece if info you did not give me.

If you have your own policy then your liability policy would pay the portion of your mother's damages for which you are liable.  In this case it is 100% of the damage as you are 100% liable.  There is NO deductible for liability.  it's paid based  on the percentage of liability for which you are at fault.

You didn't say if you lived at home and you were on the same policy as your mom.  If you are the situation is different.

If you both have the same  POLICY, meaning you're still with your parents then a deductible would apply under collision for your mother's vehicle.  The reason being is that you can't be liable to yourself.  basically you can't hit your  own car and be paid under liability.

I'm thinking the answer to your question is the first scenario.

I'm hoping this has helped you.  but kind of curious, your mom is really going to make you pay for damages???  $500 is basically very minor damage.  I'm all about tough love and responsibility but seriously!!!!!

  5. for only $500 i would pay for it myself and not bother contact the insurance company

  6. You have an estimate from a repair shop for $500?  The cover charge at most body shops is well over $500.
