Which section of the bagua would my kitchen fall into? I've heard that kitchens usually have too much fire energy because of the pointed utensils etc, is that true and what kind of energy does my kitchen have based on the directions given above? What colors, materials would be good to place in the kitchen?

Also my kitchen is long and big, upon entering the stove is to the right (probably S or SW) and the sink across from it on the left (probably SE) It's somewhat open with a counter that overlooks the dining room/living room space and the entrance (no actual door) is to the right of the counter.

  1. i guess you pick up this bagua method from a book. i don't think that is a good method. i have taken seminars from fengshui masters and i have never came across the bagua method. usually the seminars will be about flying stars, 8 mansions, xuan kong da gua, water placements/ water dragons, etc.

your fonrt door is facing NE; so, you are in the SW-NE line, it means that you should not put bright red, bright orange or bright yellow on the SW and NE locations in your house, and you need to keep these parts quiet or less movements. SW and NE line to the chinese is where spirits pass. so, if your house faces either of these 2 directions, it means that sometimes, you can sense them.

regarding the kitchen, if you use flying stars, always put the kitchen in an area where there is good chi, so you won't go hungry - ever!

in fengshui the kitchen is responsible for attracting money to our lives.

in flying stars method, numbers are used to represent an element or an energy/ chi. whenever these energies combine, they interact and form new forms of energy. and in flying stars you can use the chart to analyze the chi in your house.

avoid having a kitchen in an area where there is 1 and 6 - this can cause accidents by sharp object, unless you won't use knives in your kitchen. (again 1 and 6, does not mean the address of your house, but it has something to do with the chart of your house). also avoid 7 and 2 or 7 and 9, these are fire chis, which can cause too much fire in your kitchen.

sinks and oven/ stoves must not be opposite of each other; they can be side by side, but at least 2 feet away from each other; they can be adjacent, but again as far as possible. fire and water can dry up your money coming in.

also avoid having your stove/ oven at the SW or NE locations, it will activate these areas and can cause the occupants of the house to be sensitive to the spirits.

  2. For what you say, you are using the 8 Aspiration system. You should use the 8 Mansions and the Flying Stars systems of Feng Shui to know which element has to be in your kitchen. Once you know it, you can apply the colors and materials accordingly, as colors and materials are characteristics of the elements.

You'll find all necessary information here (theory, glossary, calculators, courses).
