  1. If you want to put your fish tank according to Feng Shui, you should analyze your home according to the 8 Mansions and the Flying Stars system of Feng Shui, to know where it will be appropriate to place it.

A fish tank is considered to be a water element. So you should place it where the water element applies. About how many fishes, this has nothing to do with Feng Shui, albeit it is considered in some books.

You can check all information you need here:

  2. there's more than feng shui to judge where to put a tank. such as being in the vicinity of plug sockets for the filters/heaters etc, i'm sure having wires trailing all over is NOT good feng shui. as well as being out of direct sunlight which would cause excess algae and heat up the water to very high levels, also away from draughts which may also cause problems.

how many fish you put in depends on the size of the tank, the filtration, whether it's been put through the nitrogen cycle, whether you have it set up as tropical (heated) or not etc. I'm sure dead fish are not good feng shui so cater for the fish's care needs first before you go about the karma situation.
