How come Ferrarri always escape punishment when other teams don't? is it some sort of conspirancy within the F.I.A. to favour them or do they have a hold over the governing body of motor sport?

  1. The FIA are a complete joke, the problem is that it is their job to maximise the revenue from the sport and that means engineering the results so that Ferrari do well and the fight for the title(s) is as close as possible.

Massa deserved to win that race but that is not the point.  His team created a dangerous situation and the stewards quite rightly picked up on it, but the decision to wait until after the race finished before deciding on the penalty is completely withou precedent.  In the GP2 race beforehand, there was a similar situation and the driver was given a drive-through penalty.

GP2 isn't F1 of course, but it is governed by the FIA.

Had Massa been given a drive-through, he would probably have finished 2nd behind Hamilton and would now be 10 points behind him instead of 6.  As I say, the FIA are trying to make it a nice close finish to the season.

It doesn't help that the two most important men at the FIA, Bernie Ecclestone and Max Mosley are both self-confessed Ferrari fans.

  2. Maybe they will be prosecuted over the pitstop fiasco, we will have to wait and see.

I don't believe there are any conspiracies.

If they do get punished I am sure it would be a 10 drop in start position and Massa will not be stripped of his Valencian race win.

  3. Ferrari, with all intents and purposes, ARE Formula One Racing.

As long as they hold the cache of being the 'Oldest Team' and their all encompassing support, then they will always hold sway over most decisions made.

Hate it or Love it, that's the way it is!

  4. Get a grip. It was a race and things happen.

  5. .

Stephen S...it was a 1 euro fine and 4 doughnuts for the FIA mate!

Is it Ferrari's fault, the FIA's or fans expectations? A bit of all I think...

I wouldn't like to see Massa lose the win but..........

    .

  6. F.I.A. stands for Ferrari International Assistance...its all politics and thats why Mosley is still there. Ferrari drivers never do anything wrong....do they????  I have lost all faith in the FIA governing body. I just cannot see why the manufacturers don't do there own thing.

  7. 10.000 euros really means a lot to ferrari. They might have to miss out on a few doughuts at the next meet because of it !!!!!

  8. I hope someone writes a book on this subject someday-it will make for very interesting reading.

EDIT: It's a load of grease and grim and I ain't talking about the stuff that goes into the engines!

  9. Ferrari get away with things cause with no Ferrari team no F1 . Ferrari fans make up 75% of race fans and TV ratings. 75% of all F1 merchandise sold is Ferrari so with out Ferrari no F1.

  10. the F.I.A are scared of the mafia led by ferrari

  11. as they say in italy ~sofarisogood.

  12. what exactly did they get away with ? I'm lost here?

are we saying they should be penalized for not crashing with sultil? or for hurting their own pit crew?

    i dont get it
