The Englishman claims that Sir Alex Ferguson had always demanded that his players put in extra effort on the pitch and that talent alone was not good enough for success.
Manchester United’s success over the years maybe partly down to the talent the club has had, but their workmen like mentality and hunger for trophies has kept them on a winning streak that few other sides can match.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752’s tenure at the Theatre of Dreams has spelled the most golden of times for United, with the Manchester giants scooping up one honour after another.
The former Aberdeen boss has been at the heart of the team’s success at every corner and it’s his sheer passion for the game that keeps the Red Machine ticking on a weekly basis.
With such an infatuation with quality, it’s no wonder that the same mentality has trickled down to the players, who respect their manager’s hunger for silverware.
While every United player is capable of walking into any side in Europe, Ferguson also demands that with their sublime talents, they put in determined efforts on the pitch and give their very best whenever wearing the fabled jersey.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has backed this claim and added that the Scot urged his troops to work hard whether in training or during the grandest of matches at Old Trafford.
Talking to reporters, Rooney revealed Sir Alex’s choice words to the team, in which he placed an emphasis on elbow grease and grit rather than raw natural talent.
“The boss' words always hark back to hard work. People win things in football, in business, in life because they work hard and despite all the talent in the dressing room he makes us remember that we must put the hours in. The quality is there; you are Manchester United, of course it is. But what wins us things is effort,” the striker was quoted as saying while speaking to the media.
United’s recent performances have not been their best, but the club have still managed to earn three points on occasions when they are nowhere near their prime. This mentality has been the cornerstone of the club’s success and if they maintain it, the Premier League might be on its way from the Etihad in May.
