Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson claims that his side’s ability to claw their way back into any game is not a fluke and has enabled them to win countless trophies over the years.
A hallmark of the Red Devils now, making them perhaps the only team in the world who seem to gather three points from the jaws of defeat every season.
Whenever a Ferguson led Manchester United team falls behind, the opposing side don’t relish their goal, but often turn to the clock to see whether they have enough time to score another or not.
Such has been the mentality instilled by the Scot, that no matter what the scoreline, the Manchester giants refuse to go quietly into the night and fight for every point or victory no matter what the occasion.
3-0 down against Chelsea, many would have written off the club, including their own fans, but like always the troops rallied back and fought their way back to an impossible 3-3 draw, which can only be described as the miracle of Stamford Bridge.
However what makes comebacks like these more special is that, everyone expects United to recover.
This ability to make their way back into games regardless of the opposition has witnessed wins of immense proportions in each and every season, something which Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson claims does not happen by chance.
“I think over the years we’ve had these moments when we’ve scored late goals. I think it’s part of the history that we don’t give in. We are capable of scoring late goals.“It’s not an accident because there’s a thread that relates to the club that way,”
he said.
“It’s been obvious for many years. You could point to the recovery at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, the Norwich game obviously, or Monday (at Blackburn) because with nine minutes to go it’s 0-0. But they don’t give in. They kept their intensity and concentration really well."
The business end of the season is on and like always United have managed to fight their way back to the top of table after overcoming a seemingly impossible 10-point deficit against bitter rivals Manchester City.
