Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is wary of Everton putting up a strong fight when they play the F.A Cup semi-finalists this weekend.
David Moyes’ men have been consistently ranked as one of the better teams in the Premier League and with the kind of results they have achieved over the last decade, the claims are not unfounded.
The Scot is a legendary figure in the Blue half of Merseyside as he has managed to turn the Toffees in to contenders for Europe and has even gotten them in to the UEFA Champions League despite operating on a shoe-string budget.
Everton have been a difficult opponent for United and last year it was Javier Hernandez’s late header that grabbed the points for Fergie’s men at Old Trafford.
Ties between the two managers have been well of the field, but when it comes to winning matches everything is put aside.
It was a perhaps not a surprise that Everton made to the semi finals of the F.A Cup this season and in the process set up a mouth watering derby with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. Carroll, all but ending Moyes’ hopes for silverware this term.
As they are coming back off a disappointing defeat, Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has warned his troops to be careful, as the visitors could put a stronger than expected fight.
"It was a bad one for Everton, they went into that game with good form," said Ferguson of Everton's semi-final defeat. It was a disappointment for them, losing a semi-final in a derby,” he said.
"It's always a blow to you and I'm sure http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 and the rest of them will have suffered from that. I think no matter whatever the circumstances of last week it was always going to be a hard game anyway. That's the way I view it.”
"We expect hard games, we're ready for hard games, that's the good thing about us."
United will be aiming for the three points when they take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019, so that they have a healthy lead going into the derby against Manchester City on the 30th of April.
