Manchester United’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson believes that his teams Europa League games could lead to them falling out in the Premier League.
United are currently competing in the Europa League, while they look to claim the Premier League crown at the end of the season.
In the team’s last outing in the European competition, they went on to suffer a very humiliating defeat at the hands of Athletic Bilbao, which saw them lose by three goals to two at Old Trafford.
As a result, Ferguson believes that his side might falter in the Premier League, should they go all out and give a hundred percent against Bilbao in the second leg.
The manager, when talking about the Europa League and its implications on the Premier League is quoted to have said:  “Maybe a factor will be the progress of United and City in the Europa League. That may have a lot to do with it.”
“It definitely looks like the title is a two-horse race and I don’t think either of us is going to drop a lot of points, but points will be dropped and if we were to drop points it would be crucial – for either team.”
United are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table, with one point separating them from Manchester City, who occupy the second spot.
The Red Devils went on to beat West Brom last night, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 scoring the goals, which saw the team win by two goals to nil.
On the other hand, Swansea beat City by one goal to nil and as a result, there was a change in the positions of the two teams from Manchester.
As it stands, United now need to learn how to manage playing in the Europa League and then come in on the weekend and give it their all in the Premier League.
Many believe it would be better for the team to choose one of the two and focus on that, since varying between two competitions is going to drain the players and could see the team end up missing out on both the trophies.
