Manchester United’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson believes that Jonny Evans has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season.
Over the course of the last few seasons, Evans was looked at as being one of the weakest players at Old Trafford.
The player started off the current season in the same manner, as he seemed to be all over the place and appeared to be a little off the mark.
However, following a long term injury to Nemanja Vidic, Evans went on to step his game up and has been running the show at the back for United.
His performances have been rather remarkable and he seems to have come a long way from how he started the season.
The centre back seems to have developed positional sense and his ability to be at the right place at the right time has also gone on to consistently help his team out.
Ferguson has taken note of the defender and his performances and when talking about the centre back, the Red Devils boss is quoted to have said: "I must admit my heart sank a little when I learned just how long http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 was going to be out"
"He and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonny-Evans-c19085.”
"Jonny came to us from Belfast when he was 12 or 13, always exceptionally talented but gangly with physical issues growing up.”
The manager then went on to admit that the defender had finally started to repay the team for the effort and time that they had put into him and that he was proving to be a worthy investment.
"We had him out on loan with Antwerp and Sunderland and now we are seeing the value of nurturing him.”
Should Evans continue to play in the same manner, he could end up replacing Ferdinand in the United started eleven once Vidic returns to fitness, given his age and the performances that he has been putting in on a weekly basis.
