Manchester United’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson believes that Ashley Young looked to win a penalty against Clark, which is why he tumbled in the box.
In the Red Devils game against Aston Villa, Young went on to go tumbling down in the box, after Clark seemed to make a very minimalistic contact with the attacker.
However, replays suggest that the United attacker may have even gone on to dive, in order to get the odds in favour of his side.
However, Ferguson believes that, despite Young trying to win the penalty, there was a little contact between the two players.
When talking about the incident, the Red Devils boss is quoted to have said: "[Young] played for the penalty. The player decides to leave his foot in and takes the contact from the challenge.”
"It was a dramatic fall, but it was definitely a penalty, no doubts about that."
The manager then went on to talk about the game, as he believes his side played rather well and deserved to pick up all three points from the match.
He added: "It was a good result and a good performance, the first half in particular.
"In the second half, we were more careless, but the third goal killed the game, and made sure of the result."
Despite the win, Ferguson refused to claim that the title race was over. The manager insisted that there were going to be a whole lot more twists and turns in the season over the coming weeks and that it would be up to his team to overcome these turns, as
they look to win the league for the twentieth time.
He said: "There could yet be twists and turns, we just need to keep enjoying ourselves and keep playing alright and picking up points.”
With United now possessing a five point lead over City, it is up to the league leaders to maintain their point difference, as they look to go on and win the league.
Nonetheless, any slip ups that the team ends up making, could prove to be costly, as City are looking to pick their form up once again.
