Manchester Untied manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson believes the Premier League title race will end up going down to the wire and as a result, the manager refuses to rule out Manchester City just yet.
United went on to face off against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 this past weekend and following a rather emphatic display, the Red Devils beat their opponents by five goals to nil.
The win saw United extend their lead at the top of the table to four points, but only because they have now played one more game then Manchester City.
City are set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 this coming Wednesday, as they look to try and close in on the gap at the top of the table, that seems to increase as each day goes by.
Despite the lead that his side has developed in the league, Alex Ferguson has gone on to insist that his rivals are more than likely to get back in the race and hence the title race will go down to the wire.
The manager, when talking about just what could happen over the remainder of the season is quoted to have said: "I expect it to go to the wire, always hope for the best and expect the worst"
"There are only nine games left now, it is just a matter of games getting cut off one by one and hopefully we achieve what we want to achieve.”
"What's significant today is it's reduced the goal difference by five goals and that's down to three now and it may make a difference at the end of the season."
Both the Manchester based clubs are expected to meet each other on April 30th. Many believe that the upcoming game between the two teams could prove to be the title decider this season.
However, the only way for the title to be decided in that game, is if both the teams win all their games until that point.
Should either team end up slipping up in the coming weeks, the Premier League winners could very well be decided, well before United and City face off against each other.
