Manchester United’s manager, Alex Ferguson went on to congratulate Manchester City, after they went on to win the Premier League title, but at the same time, he stated that the team needed a century to replicate United’s success.
United won their last game of the season by one goal to nil and seemed to be on course to claim the Premier League crown.
However, with Edin Dzeko and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero scoring in stoppage time, City went on to win their game by three goals to two and ended up claiming the Premier League trophy. As a result of this win, City have now won their first league title in over forty years.
Many believe that this win signifies a shift in power at Manchester, but Ferguson thinks that, that is not the case just yet.
The United boss is glad for his local rivals, but insists that they still need a century to match the achievements of United.
The Red Devils boss is quoted to have said: "On behalf of Manchester United I'd like to say congratulations to our neighbours. It's a fantastic achievement to win this league.”
"Our rich history stands us aside - it's better than anyone. It would take City a century to get our level of history."
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson then went on to talk about the younger United fans, as he felt that the memory of this season was something, that they would remember for a long time. At the same time, he believed that a fan who supported the team during their lows, was one
who would feel the best during their highs.
When talking to and about the younger fans at the club, the United boss went on to state: "The young lads will remember today. Sometimes a bad experience is better for you... you shouldn't fear the future and these lads won't."
The United boss continued: "We have a challenge but we're good at challenges and we'll kick on from here."
It is now up to Alex Ferguson to go on and come back even stronger next season, as he tries to help his side win their twentieth league title.
