Josep Guardiola has been long mooted as a potential candidate to replace Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson when the Scot eventually chooses to retire after several years at the pinnacle of world football.
The ex-Aberdeen coach has won nearly everything in the game, but still wants to continue as long as health permits him to do so. And now with Manchester United currently leading the pack in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, Fergie will surely have no desire to leave just now, not when the Reds are playing champagne football and delighting him with late comebacks.
With a six point lead already established on top of the Premiership, United and Ferguson will turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League and their consequent tie against Real Madrid for the time being, but the wily trainer has one eye on the future as well and has recently hinted that Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola might take over when he finally calls it a day.
Guardiola, who is currently on a sabbatical, would be much more suited to the role considering his healthy relationship with the media, something which Sir Alex would emphasize on especially given Mourinho’s volatile confrontations with the press.
And so it was no surprise as the United boss piled praise on Guardiola and claiming that with his resume he could effectively manager anywhere in the world.
“I spoke to Pep a little while ago and he said that he has no interest in getting back into management at the moment. His record is fantastic. “He increased that by putting a new work ethic into the players in terms of their work-rate. They work extremely hard to get the ball back and if you combine that with their possession it makes a fantastic team,” Fergie was quoted as saying while speaking to the press.
