Manchester United manager Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson is hoping that the teams from the Premier League have a better run in Europe next season.
This campaign has been a topsy turvy for the Red Devils in continental competitions, as they crashed out of the UEFA Champions League in November, before bowing out of the Europa League as well.
However it’s not only the Manchester outfit who have stuttered in Europe, teams such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and rivals City have also endured a torrid time in the tournament.
Arsene Wenger’s men were outclassed by AC Milan at the San Siro and although they put up a brave fight at the Emirates, they failed to complete the remarkable turnaround and were eliminated.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s side were also left with a bitter taste in their mouth after their maiden UEFA Champions League season, in which they failed to make it past the group stages despite their considerable fire power.
The Citizens then crashed out of the UEFA Europa League to further highlight their misery and it looks far distant from the time when English clubs were dominating Europe.
Manchester United have been favourites to lift the trophy on several occasions and even faced league rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 as the best footballing country in the world.
However United manager Sir Alex Ferguson claims that with the history they possess, Premiership teams should return stronger next term.
"It's been an unusual season for English teams. Over the last decade they have all done particularly well, getting to semi-finals, finals.
"Chelsea, ourselves, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Arsenal have all been in finals. It's remarkable that some country has done that. Hopefully this is a one-off and English teams do much better next year,” the tactician was quoted as saying.
Fergie’s troops are surely going to be competing in next year’s competition owing to their current league rankings and depending on how things unfold in the next weeks, they could be registering their name as the champions of England, if they manage to cling
on to their lead and defeat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
