Manchester United’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has gone on to insist that his team will not go ahead and spend stupidly in the transfer window.
This past season, United went on to display a number of short comings in their squad, with the team lacking depth and numbers.
In fact, the team was so short on quality players, that they went on to recall http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 from retirement, in order for the midfielder to fill in the void at the club.
However, despite all these problems that the team had, the club still managed to miss out on winning the Premier League title, on the basis of goal difference alone.
Nonetheless, many believe that it is high time for the club to spend on players again, but Ferguson has gone on to insist that he will not spend on players stupidly, but would in fact, carefully plan his movements in the transfer window.
The Red Devils boss is reported to have said: "We invest in young players. That is what we are good at – we're not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that City are going to spend fortunes, pay stupid money, pay silly salaries
and all that.”
"We can't do anything about that. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons.”
"We invest in players who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans, and we are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way."
United now need to rethink their strategy and plans for the coming season, over the next couple of months. At the same time, Ferguson needs to carefully plan and think about just who he wants to sign, before it is too late and all the better players end
up going elsewhere.
The team has a rather decent transfer kitty at their disposal, but it is now all up to Ferguson to decide just what players he wishes to pursue and which ones he doesn’t want to.
