Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has revealed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 could start for United against Athletic Bilbao, but has also revealed that the Bulgarian could be on his way out of the club.
Berbatov went on to pick up the Premier League’s top goal scorer award last season, but that hasn’t been enough to ensure the player a regular starting role this season.
The mercurial forward has managed to make only ten appearances for United in the league this season and it is rather confusing as to what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson wants the striker to do.
At the same time, Ferguson has also gone on to admit that the striker could be on his way out of the club, given that he is thirty one years old, he needs to play regular football, or he could see his career end on a low.
When talking about the forward and the possibility of him leaving the team, Ferguson is quoted to have said: "His concern is not getting first-team football"
"At 31, he is looking at first-team football.”
"It is difficult for me to guarantee that, so it could lead to him looking elsewhere.”
"We will be taking up the option on his contract but, having had chats with him, I understand he wants to get first-team football.”
"It is something we need to consider at the end of the season. For a player of his age and his ability, it is disappointing for him that he is not getting first-team football.”
"We will look at the end of the season but until then, he remains at United."
The manager also admitted that the younger players at the club had started to emerge as world class talents and that is why it was starting to get very hard for him to play Berbatov on a weekly basis.
However, the manager insisted that the striker could feature in the game against Bilbao, but there was no guarantee to that happening at the moment.
Nonetheless, it is going to be interesting to see just what the striker decides to do with his future, once the season comes to an end.
