Ferguson vows to fight back

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has taken little time to throw down the gauntlet to the newly crowned champions Chelsea and vowed: "We'll be back".

The 18 time league champions lost out on a chance to win their 4th consecutive and in total 19th title, both of which achievements are unprecedented, but in the end fell short of Chelsea by just one point, while the blues have a chance to complete their first ever double, when they take on Portsmouth at Wembley in the FA cup final on Saturday.

For all the efforts this season, Ferguson only has the silverware from Carling Cup to show for it, but the veteran is not ready let go just yet, and is determined to get back on his horse, and build a new team which will continue to lead the English game and Europe, even long after he is gone, the man who has been in charge for more then 2 decades still has the boy like exuberance and still jumps out of his seat on every goal, and would like to leave a team capable of standing their ground even after he calls it a day, so that his legacy can carry on.

While looking back at the season gone by Ferguson was understandably disappointed but resigned to the fact that, you just cannot win them all.

Ferguson said that it is not only how you lost, but what counts is how strong you can make a comeback, and the Scott is certain that his team have the ability to do just that.

Ferguson said. "It's a challenge. A few years ago it was Arsenal, then it was Chelsea, and each time we've managed to raise the bar at our football club - and that is exactly what we are going to do next year."

Sir Alex who is now 68 years old, is showing no signs of slowing down, and still

Has the hunger to bring more silverware to old Trafford. And says that he is at just the right place, Sir Alex says that one does not need to look anywhere for inspiration as the rich history of the club and the fantastic players around him, and the ones gone by are enough to inspire anyone to keep going.

Ferguson who on number of occasions has proven people wrong by continuing to do what he does best, leading the best club in the world, the speculations about his age and maybe he does not have the same hunger anymore were at the forefront in early part of this decade, when Arsenal went through the invincible season, and later Mourinho and Abrahimovic lead revolution at Stanford bridge took 2 back to back titles.

Sir Alex maintained that his club is in a transitional period and his team will bounce back when the time is right, and 3 consecutive league titles is what followed, now how can one question the resolve and determination of a man who has achieved so much and produced so many super starts at old Trafford, and it is just a matter of time when his words will be depicted by his‘re-army’ on the ground.
