Fernando Alonso claims Ferrari have created an all-rounder car – Formula 1 news
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso has recently stated that he is happy with his team’s performance in 2011 as they have created a good all-rounder race-winning car.
Ferrari recently secured their first race win of the 2011 Formula 1 season at the British Grand Prix which was the 9th round of the season.
Before this, Red Bull Racing have been dominating the season and even McLaren have been performing much better than Ferrari statistically. McLaren have secured two race-wins so far as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have secured a victory each.
Ferrari on the other hand have been all about Fernando Alonso and one cannot blame them at all as Felipe Massa has been struggling to perform up to the mark since his return in the 2010 Formula 1 season.
Nevertheless, one has to admit that Ferrari have been improving their performance with each race and now, they have a car which can match the pace of the mighty RB7.
“We have been working very hard in the past two weeks since Silverstone to bring some extra parts to the Nurburgring and we expect to have some in Hungary next week. But at Silverstone we did not need to compromise ourselves in the slow-speed corners, because
all the aero updates we brought there improved the car in the high-speed corners and when you also bring some new mechanical updates, you improve the performance in slow corners as well,” he said.
He added that the victory at the British Grand Prix was very important for the team as it gave them a major confident boost and now, they are hoping of even better performances at the coming races and possibly a pole position as well.
Red Bull Racing currently have a perfect pole position scoring record but since Alonso was just a tenth behind the two RBR drivers in terms of lap time during the Q3 round of the qualifying session, it seems that they have the capability of beating RBR both
during the race and qualifying session at the coming German Grand Prix which is expected to take place at the legendary Nurburgring circuit.
