Fernando Alonso despises mind games
The two-time world champion Fernando Alonso snatched the lead from Red Bull’s Mark Webber after he won the Korean Grand Prix. The two Red bulls had a disastrous race after they had to retire and leave the track pointless.
Fernando currently has the mental and mathematical advantage over his rivals, however, Red Bull does not want the Spaniard to feel a bit too comfortable on top and therefore they are trying to divert his attention by playing mind games in the media and thrash
Fernando’s confidence level.
The 2010 season is approaching its climax with just 2 races remaining and since the leading Champion Fernando Alonso is looking good, Red Bull thought that maybe some mind games might distract Fernando. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner stated that is
would be frustrating if Fernando won this year’s championship as he scored a win at the German Grand Prix because of some team orders from his team.
However, Stefano Domenicali could not stand this drama and back fired at the Red Bull team boss as he stated that it is quite disappointing since the energy drink-owned team was not able to secure the title already after such a huge mechanical and mathematical
advantage. Fernando Alonso has now taking the lead and it seems that Red Bull will have to do something big to win the title.
“There are some favourite teams, who have not resolved their own problems, trying to divert attention,” he said in a recent interview.
Ferrari has been at the top of its league since the past couple of races and it seems that Ferrari is performing better on the Asian tracks rather than the Red Bull.
“Fortunately for us, we are united as a team, as we show at each race, including my relationship with Felipe [Massa]. There are always media strategies designed to make you nervous or put you under pressure,” he added.
Fernando Alonso insisted that he does not care about his personal image in Brazil.
“In several countries they say my image is not good, but when I land at airports or go to the hotels or race tracks, what I see is the opposite. I'm not worried about it. My job is to get results at the track and to have the team happy with my work,” said
the Spaniard.
Nevertheless, since the Brazilian Grand Prix is Felipe Massa’s home circuit, Fernando hopes that his teammate’s supporters at the Interlagos circuit will understand what is best for Ferrari and support the team as they hope to secure the titles after this
weekend’s race.
