Fernando Alonso?

Question

For my Spanish coursework I can choose the topic.

Being an F1 fan, I wanted to do something on Fernando Alonso.

But I am not sure what to do on him and how to tie it in with Spain (it needs to have enough to do with Spain).

Can anyone help me come up with a title for my coursework essay? It would start with something like "Evaluate..." or "How far..." etc.

what role did the fact that Alonso is Spanish play in creating Fernando.  I think you can talk about Spain providing a breeding ground for talent in a number of sports..

How far Spain have supported Fernando Alonso in his F1 career. Newspapers, banners etc Whether the support was better at Renault or Mclaren. How the support of Spain of Alonso is different to the support of <country> to <driver>

Hows about the effect Alonso has had on Spanish interest in F1. Before Alonso arrived, Spain was very much a motorbike nation with little F1 interest. Now Catalyunia is often sold out and a second Spanish track, Valencia is hosting the European GP in August.

The have an Alonso museum and had city-wide events to mark his second title...they also welcome him home at the city hall at the end of every season!

How Alonso turned Spain from a football nation to an F1 nation.

Before he became WC, there wasn't much interest in F1 in Spain. It was mainly footie and motorcycling. And turnouit at the race was not so fantastic. But after he became WC.... Alonso-mania swept the nation

Or maybe something about how Alonso can help promote Spain.

Well remember to add something from the 3 tenses something like:

Past Tense:

Creo que Alonso fue un campeón digno/indigno.

(I think Alonso was a worthy/unworthy champion)

or

Alonso hizo fórmula uno más popular en España.

(Alonso made F1 more popular in spain)

or

Alonso nació en Oviedo

(Alonso was born in Oviedo)

Present:  

Pienso que Alonso es uno de los mejores pilotos actualmente en Fórmula 1.

(I think that Alonso is currently one of the best drivers in F1)

or

En España están muy orgullosos de Alonso.

(In Spain they are very proud of Alonso)

Future:

Pienso que alonso ganará el campeonato de pilotos otra vez.

( I think that Alonso will win the WDC again)

or

Pienso que alonso no ganará el campeonato de pilotos otra vez.

(I think that Alonso will not win the WDC again)

Conditional tense:

Pienso que Alonso ganaría si él fue el piloto de Ferrari, McLaren o BMW.

( I think that Alonso would win if he drove for Ferrari,Mclaren or BMW)
