Fernando Alonso requests his fans to take it easy after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix incident

Fernando Alonso was the favourite driver for the 2010 drivers’ title until the last race but it seems that the Spaniard was unable to outthink Red Bull and since he got stuck behind the two Renaults, his fans were not happy with Vitaly Petrov for some reason.
It was quite clear that the Russian driver was just trying to do his job and it was clearly not his fault but still, Fernando’s fans think that he should have moved out of the two time world champion’s way.
It was revealed recently by Vitaly Petrov that Fernando Alonso’s fans abused and defaced Vitaly Petrov on his official Facebook page. Alonso was obviously not happy with the result after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and gesticulated wildly to Petrov but it was
quite clear that it was out of frustration and the Spaniard did not mean anything.
“Probably my fans didn't like some of his statements after Abu Dhabi. We all have to think about what we say after a race, but I say to my fans to stay calm because we have lived together a spectacular year,” Alonso told the Media.
It seems that Fernando does not regret what he did and still believes that Vitaly was unfairly keeping him behind but the Spaniard urged his fans to stay calm as there is always next season. Other than that, Fernando was delighted and surprised after the
2010 Formula 1 season as he did not expect his team to perform so well in the end and since he finished with a huge margin over Felipe Massa in terms of points, Alonso was obviously more superior than the Brazilian for Ferrari this year.
“I think there was never such a difference between myself and my team-mate. This makes me happy, given the results I have had. My level of driving I think is at its best and I hope to continue like this next year,” he added.
The 2011 season however, is going to be another wild ride with Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari expected to be joined by team Mercedes as well for the battle for the most vital titles in the sport.
