Fernando Alonso says he is sure Ferrari will fight back on grid – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso is hopeful for Ferrari’s good job at the Turkish Grand Prix.
Alonso says they still have positive ability to show their performance in the upcoming races despite of their difficult start in the 2011 season.
Ferrari seemed quite strong in winter testing, while it could not manage its positive start in this season, as their car was not reliable during the races.
In the Chinese GP, Alonso put his team on the seventh spot, but the squad was happy with both of their drivers run, as team considers that they tried their level best to manage a good run against the strong runners.
Despite of his poor race in Shanghai, the two-time world champion is still looking forward to score a podium position in the remaining races of the season. He admitted that although he knows it is not the start of the season, but he is still interested to
show his excellent job for the team.
The Spaniard said that he has absolute trust in his team and that he is hopeful that Ferrari will bring positive changes in its run in the Turkish race.
He also discussed his previous performances and said, “I well remember when I was at Renault in 2006, that in the first part of the season I had built up a big lead but then Ferrari made such a good job of developing its cars that Michael Schumacher staged
a great fight back, overtaking me with two races remaining.”
He appreciated McLaren’s run, which it has been completing from winter testing to the Chinese GP.
Alonso added, “This year has been no exception to that rule: after the final test in Barcelona, everyone reckoned the McLarens were nowhere and then they always got on the podium, ending up with a win in China.”
On the other hand, his teammate Felipe Massa assured that Ferrari only need to qualify better, if they are willing to achieve their pole place in the remaining races of this season. He further added, he is sure, if team moves on grid with this condition,
then it can come closer to their victory in the upcoming weekends of the 2011 season.
The team is still busy struggling for its podium positions in the 2011 Formula 1 season. It will be interesting to see how Ferrari manage their best run among the top runners of Formula 1 in the Turkish Grand Prix that will start on May 8, 2011.
