Fernando Alonso sees exciting 2011 season ahead
The Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso believes that the changes introduced in the FIA rules for the 2011 season is going to turn the 2011 season more "spectacular" and thrilling for the race fans. He also sees a more intense fight for the drivers and the teams
next year, making the sport more exhilarating than ever before.
While responding to the reporters, the 2-time world champion proclaimed that he reckons that the latest changes in FIA are very encouraging for the drivers. He admitted that the return of energy-recovery system, KERS is going to bring a new kind of rivalry
and competition on the track. KERS was present in the sport earlier as well but due to its high cost it was banned at the start of 2010 season. However, it has made its way to the track once again for next season.
Another major change in the rules is the introduction of moveable rear wings. This is going to help the drivers over-take during the race weekend. This season, over-taking was very difficult for the drivers. However, FIA believes that the more over-taking
moves will be practiced during a race, the more dramatically the race results will alter.
While explaining this to the media, Alonso said, "Each year there are rule changes to encourage overtaking, but I think that the ones in 2011 are really significant. I think that, finally, it will be much easier to overtake and hopefully the racing will
be spectacular.”
While describing his personal aspirations for the next year, the 29-year-old admitted, "When you are at Ferrari, the world championship as a target is obligatory. We will have a better car than this year and the goal remains the same as always. We know how
difficult is our task because of the competitiveness of Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes, so we need to work hard to find something they do not have."
Although the 2010 season has also unwrapped perfectly for the driver, yet the last race of the season proved very unlucky for him. The Spaniard missed his third championship at the last round, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to Sebastian Vettel, yet he is adamant
to return next year with a renewed pace and form to claim the title once again.
