Fernando Alonso takes inspiration from Ayrton Senna – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has said that he takes inspiration from the legendary Formula 1 driver, Ayrton Senna who won three world championship titles during his career.
Senna is arguably the best driver in the history of the sport. Moreover, he is undeniably one of the most celebrated drivers who unfortunately died in an accident in 1994 San Marino GP.
Alonso has recently expressed that he has an earnest desire of winning three championship titles like the veteran Brazilian driver who has always been his hero.
“But as I said when I finished in Brazil in 2006, it's a dream for me to win three world championships in my career. To have the same as Ayrton had three world championships he was my idol and my reference when I was in go karts. Three's a pretty good number
that I dreamed of always and will hopefully arrive at before late,” he said.
The Spaniard is currently leading the drivers’ rankings with 154 points and after winning the German GP, he became the first driver in the current season so far who has successfully scored three grands prix victories.
Furthermore, he said that they are very much delighted with their performance in the season until now as they have amazingly restricted the projected difficulties. However, he believes that they still need to continue their developmental process in order
to score more and more points in the forthcoming races to win the championship battle.
“At the moment we are happy with the points achieved in the first half but we need to keep working hard, we need to keep consistent and we need to keep getting good results,” he added.
In addition, he said that the fight is very tight amongst all the contenders in this season and it is very important to keep on making the significant preparations to maintain their lead.
At present, Ferrari are at second position in the constructors’ championship and are aiming to come up with some essential updates in their car for the approaching races. Let’s see how they show up in the Hungarian GP at Hungaroring in Budapest this weekend.
