Fernando Alonso unable to ski during Ferrari’s fun and frolics at “Wrooom”
Fernando Alonso is clearly going to be one of the stars of this year’s Formula 1 season and it is going to be interesting to see the car, Ferrari will provide him in 2011. The team recently revealed that they will launch their new car at the media event
by the name of “Wrooom” in Italy.
Ferrari hosts a number of fun activities and events and the team is currently enjoying the event immensely. However, Fernando Alonso had to sit out of their “Skiing event” recently because of a minor muscular injury in his leg.
Fernando Alonso’s teammate Felipe Massa was seen skiing while the Spaniard just posed for pictures and enjoyed the atmosphere at the event. The skiing activity took place at the Madonna di Campiglio where the Wrooom event began on the 10th of
January.
Alonso stated that the only way of recovering from this injury is rest as there is no medication required. However, Fernando is still working in the gym in order to lose some weight for the 2011 Formula 1 season in order to make up for the weight occupied
by a device called KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) which Ferrari hopes to use this season.
The two time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso became the youngest Formula 1 champion in the history of the sport when he won his first title back in 2005 with Team RenaultF1. The Spaniard won another title the following year and proved that he has
what it takes to win races consecutively and defeat drivers like Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen.
Lewis Hamilton won the 2008 Formula 1 title in his career’s second season and became the youngest drivers’ champion in the sport but in 2010, Sebastian Vettel won the title and broke the record once again.
This past decade was pretty good for Formula 1 in many ways and it seems that the 2011 Formula 1 season is not going to be any different either. It is expected that Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull racing team would be joined by Team Mercedes and it will be
an even more competitive and dramatic season.
Nevertheless, the two drivers are expected to talk to the media pretty soon about their team’s package and their hopes and expectations about the 2011 Formula 1 season.
