Fernando Alonso will shave his beard and get back into his “Formula 1” mode
Fernando Alonso finished in 2nd place in the 2010 Formula 1 season after losing his drivers’ standings lead at the very last race in Abu Dhabi to Sebastian Vettel.
This time, Fernando wants to rule out all errors and perform at his best in order to win the title.
However, in order to do that, Fernando will have to shift from his “car development mode” to his “driving mode” once again. For that, the Spaniard needs to shave his beard, which he will do before the first pre-season test session, which is expected to take
place in Valencia starting from the 1st of February.
It is expected that Red Bull Racing Team and Mercedes will reveal their new cars at that session while McLaren hopes to launch its new car after the first session on the 4th February. It is a sort of a “McLaren tradition” that they launch their
car after their rivals.
Nevertheless, the two time world champion’s new “facial fashion” has pleased everyone but his mother.
“I don’t think so. My mother doesn’t want it”, said Fernando.
Therefore, Fernando is going to be a good boy and shave his beard since his mother wants him to.
However, Fernando is pleased with F150 that is Ferrari’s new car and he hopes that he will perform at his best in 2011 and make sure that he does everything right this time.
“I have a good impression of the car. At this presentation we have seen the potential of Ferrari, we are the only team that can do a launch like this”, Alonso, beaten to the drivers’ title by Sebastian Vettel in last year’s final race, told the media.
Alonso is more confident and more determined than ever this time and he hopes to outperform every driver on the track and hopefully secure both titles for his team.
The new Ferrari has KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) installed in it, which might make racing a bit more exciting in a way.
“I will feel more confident with this year’s car, more comfortable, it will be more predictable. I know the team now. The first sensations at Feb. 1 are less important than ever. Driving is more difficult yes, when you take a road car or a GT maybe you enjoy
yourself more. F1 is more technical”, he said.
