Named after his father, Fernando Redondo Jr. has a stiff task on his hands as he takes his initial steps in the footballing world. As the son of a legendary footballer, the young playmaker has expectations riding on his shoulders even before he touches the
field in a competitive fixture.

Reflecting on the situation, the teenager shared that he could not believe when he called up for the Tigre first team, and enthused that it is the best thing that has happened to him.
Redondo revealed that playing for Tigre first team has been a dream come true for him as he had wished at wearing the senior squad colours.
"El Vasco [Arruabarrena] called me last week and when he told me that I had to report for training, I could not believe it. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me," the youngster remarked.
"It has been my dream ever since I was a kid and I started playing football. It is what every kid wants when they kick their first ball."
However, Redondo is different from his father who earned worldwide acclaim with Real Madrid and Tenerife. the holding midfielder’s role.
"My old man was an out of this world player. Besides, we play in different positions because I am a No. 10."
Nevertheless, the defiant streak is evident in Redondo Jr., who shared that he will not cut his hair if the coach asked him to. However, he admitted that if his teammates force him to, he will have no chance as it is pre-season ritual reserved for new players.
"I would not cut my hair if the coach asked me too," the teenager commented.
"I've got no chance, [my team-mates] are going to shave my head," Redondo Jr. concluded.
