http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 was on fire against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday when he helped himself to his first hat-trick in a Chelsea shirt. Scoring two goals in the first half of the match many expected the Spaniard to crown an impeccable performance by taking home
the match ball.
The Blues’ striker lived up to the hype and found himself having scored his first hat-trick in over a year, in what was arguably his best performance for the club since joining in January last year.
However, his hat-trick followed that of Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, who managed to score all three of the Reds’ goals against Norwich on Saturday, including an audacious goal from just in front of the half-way line which caught the opposition keeper
completely by surprise.
Many an expert praised the performance of the Uruguayan international who inspired his side to a much needed win.
In an interesting twist it turns out that Suarez’s exploits also inspired Torres who conceded that he had to do something special in order to avoid being overshadowed once again.
“After seeing Suarez score a hat-trick as sensational as that I knew I had to deliver and put in a similar performance.” The Spanish striker began, “it has been a difficult move for me but I think I am beginning to settle in now.”
“I’m finally getting my goal scoring touch back and it seems all I needed was a wakeup call that Liverpool now had a new hero and had gotten over me. So I now had to endear myself to the Chelsea fans somehow, seeing how the amount of fan mail from Liverpool
fans seemingly dried up over night.”
“That is why I decided to stop being lazy and score. It has never been a problem for me, I just never saw any real reason to find the back of the net.”
The Chelsea striker elaborated, “I mean do you seriously think that I missed that open goal against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 (de Gea) at Old Trafford by mistake? No, I missed it because I could and just to see the look of horror on the faces of the Chelsea fans as they witnessed
their £50-million striker miss a goal that Andy Carroll could have scored with a blindfold on.”
“It was priceless” he added.
“Also I never really liked the colour blue to be honest but I’m getting used to it now, so you never know, maybe I’ll finally go back to playing like it did at Liverpool before I got injured.”
As for the future, it seems that Torres is more than happy at Chelsea and does not seem to intent on a move elsewhere.
“I am enjoying myself at Chelsea and will only consider a move to a better playing club; one that throws in an oil well or two as part of the contract.”
With both the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and the Chelsea striker in scintillating form one can only imagine what will happen on the pitch come the FA Cup final.
