And no, that was not a pun aimed at the team’s stunning physio. The Chelsea number nine admits that although he expected to play more he knew that his time would come.
Torres has had a mixed year-and-a-half at the club since joining in a British record transfer fee from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 last season. Quoting the figure would be pointless seeing how every person who does not live under a rock has been exposed to a plethora of Torres
jokes and memes by now.
However, the Spanish international has found it difficult at the club where he once hoped to strike a formidable partnership in attack with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044. Instead, Torres found his chances at the club limited and when they did come along, El-Nino did not
impress.
Yet a change in manager has seen the striker’s fortune take a turn for the better as his goals to games ratio improved and Torres saw himself bag an FA Cup and UEFA Champions League medal as well.
Couple that with the guarantee that Torres will be leading the line for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 next season following Drogba’s departure and things seem to be going the Spaniard’s way.
He said, “At Chelsea I am very happy and I never said the opposite.” Before going on to admit that it had been a tough year when he said, “I still have a lot to do in this club. It has been a difficult year, I didn’t play much and my mind was like a roller-coaster.”
Torres believed that he “deserved to play more. I felt very bad and I would not like to feel that way again but I have never surrendered and I never will.”
The Chelsea number nine also thanked the fans and the owner, Roman Abramovich, for their support and the faith they showed in him. Torres will now focus on making the final cut for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 squad which is gearing up for the Euros.
However, next season will present a new challenge for the talented striker as he looks set to spearhead the Blues attack in what is otherwise an aging squad.
