Fernando Torres claimed that he would like to score against Liverpool when the Reds go up against Chelsea on Sunday, 6 February.
Torres, who just signed for the English champions for a whopping 50 million pounds, said he has no reservations about scoring against his former club. The Spaniard is eager to go up against Liverpool on Sunday, regardless of the
ruthless reception he is bound to receive from his former supporters.
Few Reds fans have already shown their disdain for the striker by burning replica shirts that were bearing Torres’ name, on the eve of his move to Chelsea. However, the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner is turning a blind eye to the hatred
focused towards him, saying that he still has a soft spot for his former employers.
Torres said, “It is not perfect for me but we will see what happens and I only have good words about Liverpool. They made me a top player and gave me the chance to play at the top level. I will never say anything bad about Liverpool.
I have been very happy there, but now the history is different and I am playing for Chelsea.”
The striker further added that he would like to mark his debut for the Blues with a goal, even if it comes against Liverpool. He said, “It is like destiny. Now I am very happy to be a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player. If I have the chance to play
(on Sunday), I will do my best for Chelsea and hopefully I can score.”
Torres’ departure from Anfield does not mean that Liverpool will become pushovers. Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish had been preparing for life without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, as soon as the Spaniard handed in a written transfer request
on Friday.  The Reds have managed to secure the services of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, giving them more than enough firepower upfront.
Sunday’s match at Stamford Bridge promises to be an exhilarating affair. Will Torres heap more misery on the Liverpool supporters by scoring against his former club? We will find out when the two sides meet in a few days time.
