Ferrari's driver Felipe Massa tested their new ‘150 Italia’ car upgrades during a filming day, last week at Fiorano. The team introduced some new components in their 2011 car to make more improvements on its run, for the remaining races of this season. However,
Massa tested these components during a track day for a ‘promotional film’. The team informed that these ‘improvements’ will be debuted in Turkish Grand Prix.
Massa said, "After so many hours in the simulator it was nice to have a break and enjoy myself on track."
The reporters informed that the new car had some differences with the previous car used in Melbourne, Sepang and Shanghai race. They further added that it is different from its China course specification in the rear suspension areas and diffuser system.
Ferrari introduced the Red Bull’s car like upgrades in their new 2011 machine, which were tested during the filming day by Massa. However, the media said that it would be a ‘big risk’ for the team.
On the other hand, Red Bull's driver Mark Webber guessed the Ferrari’s recent struggles and said, "In Schumacher's days, the rules didn't change very much for years and so the team made many small steps forward. Now the changes are big and very often."
A few days ago, Ferrari's President, Luca di Montezemolo, updated the media with a fact that the next race weekends of 2011 season will be crucial for the team, as they hope to fight for the a world championship title this year.
After the Chinese Grand Prix, the Maranello-based outfit was busy, working on its new car for the more upbeat results of this season. So, Ferrari announced about the improvements, which they made in their new 2011 machine for improving their qualifying pace.
Massa also assured that Ferrari only needs to qualify better, if they are willing to achieve their pole place in the remaining race weekends of this season. He further added that he is sure, if team moves on the grid with this condition, then the team can
come closer to its victory in the up-coming weekends of this season.
Ferrari's President wished Massa on his 30th birthday, on April 25, 2011. He said, "It's a special day for you and also for all of us: you have been part of our family for ten years now and I know that you now live and breathe Ferrari.”
All teams have gathered on the venue, however it will interesting to see how Ferrari manages their best run among the top runners of Formula 1, in the 2011 Turkish Grand Prix, taking place on May 8.
