Ferrari driver Felipe Massa aiming to take strong start to 2012 season – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is aiming to take strong start to the 2012 Formula 1 season following his average performance throughout the 2011 campaign.
Massa talked to the media and said that his intention is to be competitive right from the start of the next year. He added that he will fight for the win in every race of the next season.
The Brazilian also mentioned that 2011 has not been a fantastic season for him, so as a driver, he has a very strong desire at the moment, which he shared with his whole team that he is ready to give hundred percent to the upcoming season.
Apart from that, the Maranello-based outfit driver stated that the next Brazilian race weekend is very important for him, as he will race at his homeland.
The 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix will start from Friday, November 25, at the Sao Paulo circuit.
Talking to reporters, Massa commented, “Then there are my six years racing for the Scuderia, competing in one hundred Grands Prix for the team, which makes me one of the drivers who has raced the most for this team.”
He went on to mention, “Therefore, putting it all together, ten years of Formula 1, one hundred races with Ferrari and all of it at home in Brazil, makes this something really special for me. It will be an emotional time and what I would like to add to it
all would be a good result come Sunday afternoon.”
The 30-year-old driver further added that the race at Interlagos will be very special for him, as he will take part in the 100th grand prix with Ferrari this weekend.
The team driver kicked off to disappointing 2011 season. He has been unable to perform well on the grid for the team until the mid of the season.
Despite having a below par start to the season, Massa tried his best to put his team at the front of the field, but his rivals were faster as compared to him and he could not do that.
He is sitting at the sixth place with 108 points in the 2011 drivers’ standings after completing 18 rounds of the season so far.
Let’s see how Massa performs at Interlagos this weekend.
