Ferrari driver Felipe Massa believes Sebastian Vettel will win 2011 Formula 1 title
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa believes Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel will win the second title of his career at the end of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Massa said that Vettel is very far ahead of all drivers in the 2011 title fight at the moment. He stated that it is a time to congratulate the German for his second title in Formula 1 sport.
The Brazilian also mentioned that after the 2011 Italian Grand Prix, he thinks Ferrari’s fight for the 2011 F1 championship is over, as they have a massive gap of points from the Red Bull Racing team.
Massa commented, “I think he will just lose the championship if he stops racing now. But racing, I think it is very, very difficult for him to lose. He touched me. He pushed me out so I spun. He stopped after, but I am sure if he did not stop after he would
have had a drive through because he just hit me, and he really destroyed my race.”
The 30-year-old driver was not satisfied with his sixth position in the 2011 Italian Grand Prix. After starting from the sixth position on the opening grid, Massa ended his race at the same position after running on the sets of soft and medium tyres by Pirelli
at the Monza racetrack.
He had a close fight with Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher in the ending laps and finally finished behind Schumacher, who ended up in the fifth spot at Monza.
Apart from that, the Maranello-based outfit driver stated that they can fight for their second position in the championship battle at the upcoming race weekends of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
He went on to mention, “I think it would have been possible to be fighting with these three guys – Fernando, Jenson and Lewis. I managed to pass many cars, and managed to finish sixth, but for sure I could have fought in the top four.”
The 14th round of the ongoing season will take place on September 25, 2011 in Singapore.
Let’s see how Massa performs in the 2011 Singapore race weekend following his sixth position in Italy.
