Ferrari driver Felipe Massa believes they are facing development issues – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that they are facing issues in their new updates which are not working according to their plan ahead of 2012 Indian Grand Prix.
Massa struggled during the start of the season and faced a lot of criticism over his poor form. Moreover, he had been surrounded by many rumours that he might be replaced by the Scarlet team in the next season. However, he has performed impressively well
in the last few races and has successfully renewed his contract with his team for the coming year.
Even though, he has surprised everyone with his amazing pace in the Korean GP in which he seemed stronger than his teammate, Fernando Alonso and secured an incredible fourth place finish. Nonetheless, he asserted that they are still facing problems in their
upgrades which they need to resolve as soon as possible to come up stronger in the remainder of the season.
“We are working on a lot of things in the development of the car,” the Brazilian is quoted by Totalrace. “(But) we have had some problems with parts we have brought to the last few races not working when we go onto the track.”
Furthermore, the team principal of Ferrari, Stefano Domenicali has said that they are trying their best to make the required step-ups in their car to improve its pace in the remaining four races of the current season. In addition, he said that they are well
aware of the fact that they need to work really hard to secure a competitive position in this year’s championship.
“That’s part of the development process we are doing to improve the team, but I don’t want to hear that it’s an excuse for this championship,” he said.
Besides, he said that they are positively looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming race and are trying their best to develop the most competent car for Alonso.
“We need to keep pushing to make sure Fernando has the best car for the end of the season,” he added.
It will be interesting to see how the Italian team performs at Buddh International Circuit this weekend.
