Ferrari has failed pulling more people out of Red Bull - Helmut Marko
The Red Bull team consultant, Helmut Marko stated this morning that Neil Martin is not the only man Ferrari wanted to steal away from the double title winning team. He claimed that Ferrari did all its best to pull more people but failed.
Neil Martin, the Strategy chief officer of Red Bull Racing left the team earlier this week after he was offered a very lucrative deal from the Italian squad. When Marko was asked about the move, he replied that Martin was not the only man offered a very
appealing deal. He insisted that several other key members of the Austrian team were given handsome offers but Ferrari was successful in pulling only one member out of the squad.
Red Bull Racing has won both the Drivers’ as well as the Constructors’ Championship of 2010 after a tough, year-long battle. The Formula One grids saw the three top teams, Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, fight neck to neck all through the season at 19 tracks.
However, as the season ended, Red Bull, under the leadership of the youngest team principal in the series, Christian Horner emerged as victorious. On the other hand, after the very significant victory at the last race, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel
bagged his first drivers’ title becoming the youngest world champion ever in the sport at the age of 23 years and 9 months.
With these great achievements, Red Bull has become a symbol of success and triumph with the best combination of drivers, engineers and managers. Marko, the right-hand man of Red Bull team owner, Dietrich Mateschitz, said that the team is fully united and
will come as even better and stronger next season.
While referring to Ferrari's recent announcement of taking Martin under the Ferrari umbrella, Marko stated, "Ferrari have made massive efforts to get our people. But everyone has stayed in the boat. This is important, because we have a unique spirit in the
team and I get the feeling Ferrari wants to have it."
Mateschitz stressed that despite of the hard efforts of Ferrari not more than one man left the Red Bull Racing. When asked if he fears to lose any of the other team members, Mateschitz assured that the contracts of almost all the other key staff members
have already been renewed. He stated, "No! We have recently extended the contracts of 50 of our most important people."
