Ferrari principal Stefano Domenicali says they are building unbeatable team for future – Formula 1
Ferrari principal Stefano Domenicali has said that they are building an unbeatable team for future after having a disappointing start to the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Domenicali added that he believes 2011 will be the last disappointing season for Ferrari and they will take a strong start in the 2012 Formula 1 season with a more developed package.
Ferrari are not satisfied with their results in the ongoing season. They are busy and working on their next year’s car. However, Domenicali stated that he is sure the current season will be the last disappointing season for the Maranello-based outfit.
He discussed the Ferrari’s performance in the season so far and commented, “The crucial point is to learn how to make full use of the tyres in every condition. From here to November we can experiment with peculiar set-ups and go forward with the work. Keep
an aggressive approach, even though the championship is gone.”
The team principal went on to mention, “The areas that can make a difference must be identified, if possible, even before our rivals do. While Alonso has scored 41 points more than last year in the first 12 races, it's not his fault if Vettel has killed
the championship. We have made our mistakes, but he's been phenomenal.”
Apart from that, Domenicali added that Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso believes in team’s future. In addition, he said that Alonso has a contract with them until 2016 and they are confident he will make an encouraging future of Ferrari by showing his best
possible performance on the grid in the next seasons.
Ferrari has won only one race in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far. The Italian squad principal further mentioned that the current season’s results are not satisfactory for them, if they compare the 2011 season with Ferrari’s history in the sport.
Both of the drivers Alonso and Felipe Massa were not able to finish their race on the podium in the 2011 Belgium Grand Prix due to the tyre blistering issue.
The next round of the ongoing season will take place on September 11, 2011 at the Monza racetrack.
Let’s see how Ferrari perform in Italy this weekend following their disappointing Spa race.
