Ferrari ready to reveal their new car today

Team Ferrari had a great 2010 Formula 1 season but Fernando Alonso unfortunately lost the drivers’ standings lead at the very final race to Sebastian Vettel. As a result, he blew away a great chance of winning his career’s third drivers’ title. However,
the team is confident that they will perform comparatively much better in 2011 and win both of the titles.
Ferrari is going to be the first team to reveal their 2011 Formula 1 car on 28 January at their annual media event Wrooom. The team stated that they have used KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) in their new car which was made legal once again by the FIA
for the 2011 Formula 1 season along with movable rear wings.
“Our goal is very clear. We are aiming to win both the titles. The target is to be better than last year, especially in terms of performance. The car must be competitive from the start and it must be reliable,” said team principal Stefano Domenicali.
Other than that, Luca di Montezemolo stated that the team will have to make a strong start to the season in order to gain full advantage.
“We must make a good start, both in terms of reliability and, above all, on the performance front. Last year, we lost the championship in a first half [of the season] that found us failing to live up to our expectations,” Di Montezemolo said earlier this
month.
In the 2010 Formula 1 season, even though the team had a great start to the season, both Fernando and Felipe Massa were unable to maintain their performance and score consistent points as a result of which the team fell behind McLaren and Red Bull marginally.
“I think this will be a very interesting championship: there are a few question marks regarding the new rules and therefore we will have to wait and see how competitive are our rivals,” said Luca.
Ferrari’s new car will be called F150 and it is expected that they will use their new car at the first pre-season test session expected to take place in Valencia on 01 February. Red Bull and Mercedes will also reveal their new cars for the 2011 Formula 1
season.
