Ferrari reveals the team has specific developments for Spa and Monza – Formula 1 news
Ferrari says that the development of their car is right back on track.
Ferrari have played hit and miss throughout the season when it has come to developing their car. The season started with the team struggling with the car’s complexities.
Such were the issues that the team revealed that they might be finding it tough even to get a podium position. Since then though the team has come a long way to improve the car and Fernando Alonso is the leading driver of the season so far.
Yet the team has found out at the final race of the first half of the season that they still lack the pace that other teams have gained through developments and are not the fastest on the grid.
It has been a worry for the team especially for Alonso who after the Hungarian Grand Prix said that the team needed to come up with more update packages in order to remain competitive.
Ferrari technical chief Pat Fry has revealed that the team has learned from its woes earlier and are on track to improve the car even further.
“It's true we had a handful of parts that did not work the way we had expected,” he told Ferrari's official website. “There's always a chance that can happen in work like this. The positive aspect is that we understood the problem and everything is alright
now: that way, we can use this experience to move forward rather than being left confused about it. In fact, we have a clear idea on the direction we need to take and we have already begun to work in this direction.”
Fry even revealed that the team has a specific development for the upcoming races at Spa and Monza. Both races tracks are known best for their high speeds and it will be an interesting battle between cars to see who has the top speed.
Red Bull right now are the leaders for the constructors title, but the title hunt is still very much open and Ferrari will look to contend it as other teams like McLaren and Lotus will also.
