Ferrari says it is in no hurry to decide on its driver line-up for 2013 – Formula 1 news
Ferrari have said that the team has not been able to come to a decision on its driver Felipe Massa’s future.
Ferrari have hinted looking at drivers to replace the Brazilian after a series of poor performances in the 2012 season.
Massa's issues go further back than 2012 and  his form has been the topic of discussion for the team for some time now. Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo had also warned Massa that he must perform in the current season in order to save his race seat
with the team.
Massa has been struggling for the most part of the season but has been looking to come back to his form in the last couple of races.
On the other hand, Red Bull driver Mark Webber was speculated to be in talks with Ferrari to replace Massa. It is clear now that the Aussie will not be joining Ferrari after he signed another year contract with Red Bull.
The situation now has give a new hope to the Brazilian's chances of another year at Ferrari. Although Ferrari has maintained that there has not been a set decision on the issue as yet but if Massa can keep up the form he is in at the moment he might be able
to sway the decision in his favour.
Ferrari's Italian Channel Horse Whisperer has revealed that the Maranello based team is in no hurry to make any decisions on Massa's future at the moment. The channel stated that one absolute certainty was washed away yesterday pointing towards Webber's
Red Bull signing.
“Now the most vociferous and qualified rumourmongers are taking it for granted that Felipe will be confirmed, these generally being the same voices that, not only had him down as being out of the running for 2013, but would have had us believe he would not
even see out the season,” it said.
“Now coming into bloom are a whole list of possible and potential replacements, with a list of names from A to Z, something Ferrari is well used to. In truth, one letter, the “Z,” seems yet to be uncovered, or quite possibly it's Zorro...unmasked,” it added.
