Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali claims Sergio Perez has a bright career ahead – Formula 1
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali has recently stated after his testing with the team that Sauber driver Sergio Perez has a bright future ahead of him in Formula 1.
“I think Sergio has a good chance of having a great career. He has started with a good, humble approach, and I saw him growing very much,” he said.
Perez and Paul di Resta are the two highlighted rookie drivers of the 2011 Formula 1 season as they have secured a handful of points despite the fact that they are driving for mid-running teams like Sauber and Force India.
Pastor Maldonado on the other hand is having a disastrous debut season with Williams as he has secured just a single point with Williams. However, one has to admit that he cannot be blamed for these results as his team has not been able to produce a good
car this year.
Either way, Sergio is a part of the drivers’ academy at Ferrari and Domenicali claims that it is something which will help him learn even more and improve his driving skills massively as well.
“As you know, Sergio is part of our driver academy, and I think he is having a great season. It's part of the training programme that we give the drivers who are part of the academy. It's something that is related to his improvement, to his technical skill,
to give him some laps with our cars and knowing better that situation,” Domenicali added.
It is believed that Perez has a chance of joining the team until the 2013 Formula 1 season as the team has already announced that they want to keep Felipe Massa for another year despite the fact that he has not been able to secure a single podium this year.
Fernando Alonso on the other hand is going really well as he was actively competing for the titles this year along with the rest of the competitors keeping in mind that Ferrari quite clearly do not have strongest car on the grid this year.
