Ferrari’s Felipe Massa: I still have some years left in me – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is sure he still has some years left in him in this sport because he is not very old and can race in Formula 1.
Massa added that he is planning to keep pushing to get better results than the one in the 2011 Korean race which did not turn into much of a celebration for the 150th Grand Prix of his career.
The Brazilian driver finished his 150th race in Formula 1 at the Korea International Circuit.
He commented, “Korea was my one hundred and fiftieth grand prix and almost all of them have been at the wheel of a Ferrari, in fact my hundredth race with the Scuderia should coincide with the final round of the season at home in Interlagos. All the same,
I enjoyed driving at Yeongam, almost discovering the track for the first time given how much rain we had there in 2010.”
The Maranello-based outfit driver tried his best to get better results from every race throughout the 2011 Formula 1 season so far. Due to hard tyre issues, he has been unable to perform well on the grid in the initial stages.
In the 2011 Korean Grand Prix, Massa started the race from the fifth position on the opening grid and after putting all of his efforts, he came at the sixth place on the final race classifications.
Apart from that, the 30-year-old driver expressed his shock at the death of IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon, who died during a crash at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, on October 11 and MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli, who was killed during the Malaysian Grand Prix
last Sunday.
Massa went on to mention, “There is no point in people complaining about it and blaming others, because what are needed now are some calm analysis and then a response from the sport’s organisation.”
After finishing 16 rounds of the ongoing season, Massa is placed at the sixth position with 98 points behind McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ championship.
Let’s see how he performs in the upcoming round, which will be held at the newly constructed Buddh International Circuit on October 30 in India.
