Ferrari’s Felipe Massa hopeful of having better results in 2011 Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is hopeful of getting better results from the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix, which will begin from Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Massa said that he believes the combination of supersoft and soft tyres by Pirelli will provide them satisfactory results in Singapore this weekend.
He added that these compounds are suitable for their car and that he is sure they can work hard with them at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, as they did in the early races of the 2011 Formula 1 season, especially in Monaco.
Talking to reporters, the Brazilian commented, “But tyre choice is only one element of the car package and we will have to work hard if we are going to make the most of any advantage we might have at this race. It's true our car was okay at the Monaco street
circuit, so we can go to Singapore in reasonably optimistic frame of mind.”
The Maranello-based outfit driver Fernando Alonso made a lot of struggle on the sets of soft and supersoft compounds in the 2011 Monaco Grand Prix. After putting all of his efforts, Alonso finished his race at the second place behind the eventual winner
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel.
However, Ferrari driver Massa believes they can again get better results from the Singapore Grand Prix on the sets of these compounds after Monaco.
He went on to mention, “We have to remember however, that at this point in the season, the team's main focus has to be on the 2012 car, so in terms of new developments, apart from components already planned to be introduced for these races, the pace of development
on the 150 Italia will now be reduced.”
Apart from that, the 30-year-old driver stated that he is hopeful for the last six rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Massa still has not been able to finish his race on the podium in the ongoing season. However, he is looking forward to getting a podium position in the last stages of the season.
Let’s see how he fares in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
