Ferret Emerancy! Please help.

Question

My ferret, got out side yesterday.. the boy next door found him. last night he was acting sort of werid and just wanting to sleep. Today he has lost major weight. The boy gave my ferret a different kind of food which may of upsetted his tummy? He threw up and we gave him some pepdo and some pedilight what the vet told us to do there not open in my area. After we gave him some pedilight he pooped and it was really runny but no blood. He wants to play be he just seems really sick can someone please help me

Your ferret sounds like he got into something that does not agree with him or maybe something got a hold of him and shook him when he was outside.  A little bit of dog or cat food my cause an upset stomach, but shouldn't cause your ferret to get really sick unles he ate something that has caused an obstruction.  I had a ferret who got out and was gone for 2 weeks before we found her.  She had been attacked by something and was near death.  I saved her but she is a little neurologically damaged.  Don't give up on this one.  BUT, your little one needs a little help right now.  I would make sure he had plenty of food and water and a nice dark place to sleep.  Check on him and see if he is getting better or is getting weaker.  You can give him water from an eyedropper so you do not have to worry about dehydration and if you have some baby food, chicken or turkey, see if he will eat this.  Give him lots of love right now.  I don't know anything else that wil lhelp right now because he is not giving you many symptoms to work on.  You will have to wait until a vet opens up to get him checked out before you will know for sure.  Wish you best of luck.

He may have ate something outside that did not agree with him, or some sort of plant pesticide or chemical may have somehow gotton into his system. I would look up another vet in the phone book asap!!!!!!!!

Try until you can get to the vet.

I used to have to ferrets and my one got outside before and ate somethin like yours did, he had the runny stool and seemed very tired...he either is just tired from being outside or he may have eaten some food he isn't used to...my vet told me it was fine..but just see what the neighbor feed him because my ferrets can eat cat food and dog food so he may just have an upset stomach.....if he isn't feeling better by tomorrow night....call a vet that is near you...if you don't know anyone go on the internet and search for vets with your area code to find the closest....
