Ferret do they get diseases easy?

i'm getting a ferret in a few weeks, i heard they get diseases easily, im getting a boy, and will ferrets HAVE to go to the vet often?

ferrets can have problems when they get older but that is with any pet..one thing you should know is ferrets can get common colds and the human flu so if you or someone is sick with the flu they could catch it from you they could also give the flu to you but just like when you are sick you have to make sure they are eating and getting plenty of fluids....they require annual shots and check up just like a puppy or a cat but to say all the time no they don't need to go unless there are problems ..i have 2 ferrets myself lilo and stitch and they are awesome pets....good luck

No, they don't get diseases easily. I knew a girl who had 2 ferrets and they were fine. I worked in an animal hospital and there was a lady that used to board her ferrets there quite often. They were fine.

well, definitely not as much as rabbits for sure. I hope you get your ferret neutered because prevention is always the better solution.

Ferrets to get sick often. You should take your vet for a check up twice a year. But if they get sick yes they will NEED to go to the vet.

And the first person who answered is only right about females. If females do not mate in season when they are not fixed, then they die.

You should research more about ferrets before you get them.
