I just got my baby ferret the other day, today when i she got up she is not opening her one eye all the way, it looks like it is just a small scratch in front of her eye(she was playing with the other baby ferrets allot). when we got looked at her I looked over everything and she seemed healthy and it douse not seem to bug her or stop her from playing, so is this just a scratch or something I should be worried about?

  1. If she is still doing this in 24 hours you should take it to the vet.

I own five ferrets and i rescue them.

  2. Vet.

  3. if necessary bathe it with warm water give it a few days should be ok ferrets are hard as nails if not then its going to have to be th vets

  4. she needs time to selt down n she mite be a bite scared

  5. She could be a little hurt.  I wouldnt worry too much about it except maybe seperate her from the other babies for a while.  If it doesnt look better soon you should take her to the vet.

  6. I would check with a vet if it continues, especially if it starts to look worse. You should get her in the vet soon for a check-up anyway and he/she could check the eye while you're there. (My opinion - all new pets should be checked by a vet to make sure it's healthy and has nothing that could be contagious to your other animals.)

EDIT: I read in "Ferrets for Dummies" that Neosporin can be used on minor cuts and scratches, but depending on how close the scratch is to the eye, you might not want to do that (it could sting if it gets in her eye and I'm not sure if any other harm would come about if it would get in her eye).
