Ferret leash?

Question

I want to train my ferret to walk on a leash. Does this one look good? It is excpensive but its red which stands out and has a bell and comes with the harness leash and a sweater for when its cold (im not a fan of dressing up ferrets, its humiliating for them) but the sweater will make them warm in the fall so we can walk a little longer into the year.

Can i get something similar to this for a better price at a store or something? The sweater has a hole for the leash!

Your ferret actually will not need  a sweater.  A good harness that goes around their legs and stomach is really all they need.  I had two ferrets and taught them to walk on a leash by taking them on walks with my dog.  They of course would end up in the pouch...they can't go too far.  Walking them on streets is great though.  It helps keeps their nails short and gives them the much needed exercise.  It seems that you have more than one ferret, which is good.  They need that social element.

i tried to train them with leashes and a harness, and it didn't work. they slithered around the ground in it until it came off. eventually i just let them run around the yard with heavy supervision, but the person below seemed to be able to do it.

i think you might need a sweater, depending on your ferret. mine don't like just the regular harness that goes around the stomach and legs. the sweater is probably more secure, but you also want the ferret to be comfy.

get it, try it out. every ferret is different, and you won't really know until you let your ferret decide. but if he doesn't like it, keep trying for a week i guess, to see if he gets used to it. if he doesn't , send it back and try a different one.

go for it.  i saw a leashed ferret at petsmart and my dog couldn't figure out what was going on.
