Ferret or Chinchilla?

Im not sure which one should i pick

Ferrets should be in pairs. They are much more interactive and just plain more active. The downside is their smell.

Chinchillas can be kept alone. They have specific need like air conditioning (they can't be kept in temps over 70F without risk of internal damage) and they need volcanic dust to roll in.

Which situation would be best for you? Only you can decide that.

I love my ferret a lot.

But he smells really bad.

His cage needs to be cleaned every couple days or even more often, because he isn't completely litter trained.

Their personalities are a lot more fun than chinchillas though. I know people that have them.

Depends on what you're looking for in a pet. They're both going to be extremely expensive when it comes to the animals themselves and the cage and accessories. Chinchillas need to kept in pairs, as they are very social creatures. Ferrets also should be kept in pairs as well. Chinchillas are nocturnal and can live anywhere from 10 to 20 years. Ferrets live anywhere from 8 to 11. Ferrets are extremely playful and adventurous. Chinchillas can be very shy and timid critters, they're also fairly fragile. Do not base your opinion on one or the other on cuteness. Make sure you do your research. Whatever animal you do decide on, try adopting before going to the pet store. There are so many unwanted chinchillas and ferrets out there that need homes.
