  1. Well for starters, how about trying the following:

#1 Cleaning your room and making sure that it STAYS clean and tidy.

#2 Making sure that your homework is done and handed in on time.

#3 Sweep the floors in the living room and kitchen without your parents asking you to.

#4 Wash and/or dry the dishes.

#5 Do not fight and argue with your sisters & brothers.

#6 Eat what you are given and don't whine or make "yuck" faces when given it.

#7 Don't talk rudly to adults

#8  Always share with other kids.

#9 Go to bed when you are told to.

#10 Research the pet and breed you want to be 100% certain that it is the right one for you.

    # 11 Ask them about getting this new pet in a nice way and don't beg and whine about it.

I’m 100% sure that if you give those a try, they will see that you are serious about wanting to add a this pet to your life and family. :)

  2. You could try showing you can take the responsiblity, saving money for them and you could wright her a like 5 page report on them like thier past, health, ect.

Sorry if it doesn't work but congrats if it does.

  3. Do you need help convincing her to get a ferret, or any animal at all. If it's getting a pet, show her you're responsible, that you won't lose interest in 5 minutes. Take on chores, if you have other animals, start helping more with them. Do research on the ferrets, get a book (Idiots guide to ferrets is really good), and make sure you know everything you need to know about how to take care of them, and YOU make sure you can handle it.

If the issue is that it's a ferret, not just a pet, do the research and let her read it. Ask her to go to a pet store where they sell them. Show them to her and talk to the staff. You can go on youtube and see videos of them playing and how well they can get along with other animals (there's one of a lion and a ferret). Make sure she knows that they are not just wild animals. Many people think that. But it's like the difference between a poodle and a wolf. Don't pressure, or nag, or whine. Talk to her like a mature person.

Good luck. They're really fun and worth all the trouble. Even she'll like the little guys after a while

  4. Since you are still living with your parents, chances are they would be paying for the ferret. I can see why she might be reluctant. Not only is ferret food expensive, but medical care for a ferret reaches into the thousands of dollars as they age.

If you are the one taking care of the ferret, and you can deal with that, just take her to the pet shop and let her hold a baby ferret. If she falls in love, you are golden.

  5. First off, ferrets are lot more responsibility than most people realize. You really have no idea unless u have one or are close to someone with one.

That being said, it is also incredibly hard to change a non-ferret person into a ferret person. Some people don't mind them, even think they're cute and fun but when it comes to living with a ferret,   it takes some serious love for these creatures to tolerate them.

If your still sure they are the pet for you, you could try saving the money yourself to purchase and accommodate a ferret (they aren't cheap). Prove to your mom that this is the companion for you. Maybe introduce her to a friends ferret (one known for its sweetness). That doesn't work, purchase a short film called "Riki-tiki-tavi" and make her watch it. granite, its a mongoose in the movie but same idea.

  6. To convince my parents, I did all of my chores and some things that weren't my chores. I made a 20 something slide PowerPoint presentation showing what I know about ferrets and ferret care. I didn't beg or bug them about it, I only brought it up occasionally.

If you need some ferret care info, try this site:

I know that it's difficult to convince your parents, I've been there too, so I wish you good luck!!
